Hey fam,
Are you saving these letters I'm writing you because I haven't been. About the favorite scritpture. . . I don't have my scriptures with me but I'll find one for you and send it next week, promise. Spanish is not getting any easier. I understand more of how the language is set up and the grammar but it's still ridiculously hard to speak. Thanks for the package I loved it and so did Elder Styles, an elder from Mongolia, 3 elders from Mexico, an elder from Fiji, 2 elders in my district, and some others that I can't remember. They all thank you as well. I still have tons of peanut butter left. I do not have Hermana Canal's email or address. You could probably google it (Vina del mar mission home or something like that) or ask Connie if she has it (Liz is serving in the same mission as Greg Hawkes if you didn't remember but you probably did) so she'd have it too. If you find out what it is pass on the info I'd really like to write her and Greg. Dearelder is really cool but it's only free here in the MTC, you should try it out it's sweet. Halloween was pretty much business as usual. I have seen Elder Farr, he's doing great, just waiting for a visa to Mexico now.
This past tuesday we had Elder Richard G. Scott come and speak at the Tuesday devotional. It was so amazing! Everyone should go on missions just so they can hang out at the MTC and hear apostles speak. He talked about the influence of the Spirit and even made a handout for everyone of about 30 paragraphs of things that he's learned about the Spirit through out his life, it's pure gold. I've already been out a full month, how crazy is that? The food is getting old and sometimes the days can last forever but i'm learning so much and have felt the Holy Ghost so strongly here. There are two things that I really wish I would've done before I came out here and I want everyone of you to commit to doing these two things before you turn 19 (even you Catie and mom you're still along way off from 19 but work on it too). 1. Learn another language- It can be anything but I'd learn spanish if I were you, it'll be the most useful. I understood a bit of spanish but it's so freaking hard. Tyler, Trevor, Catie, take the time to study another language. Mom, make them study another language. Go to the D.I. and buy an old spanish textbook and make them learn. It's so important to understand how languages are set up and it'll be such a benefit to you if you do. Learn another language, it'll probably be one of the hardest things you do but do it! I can't stress this enough, please don't be stupid like me, take the time to study. 2. Learn to play the piano, well. I can play but not well enough for church. Everyone should be able to sight read every song in the hymnbook. DO IT! It's so important, you will be so grateful you did. I promise you that.
Doing these two things will be ridiculously hard and will kick your butt but I promise you if you do you will be more prepared for whatever life throws at you and whatever the Lord has planned for you. I want each of you to be able to speak another language for me by the time I get back and I want you to be able to play piano like crazy. Will you promise me that you will do these two things? Will you? Promise me? Do it, you'll be grateful you did.
I've got to run but I love you all and wish you the best. Sorry I couldn't write more. Thank you for the addresses, I appreciate it.
